The Brief:
If you are a fan of the 1986 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, certainly one visual image you get when hearing this song is of a bedraggled and disheartened Ed Rooney getting on the school bus after a long, highly unsuccessful day of trying to nail Ferris for truancy. “Oh Yeah” gained popularity for its use in the movie but, the song was actually released by Yello on their album ‘Stella’ the previous year. The song eventually charted on the Hot 100 in 1987, over two years after its initial release.

The power of a movie back in the 80s!
It can surely make a hit! And this was a two year old single like you said.
    Quirky but nonetheless a classic.
    Thanks Richie!
