The Brief:
For Vanity’s second single, she reached back into the Prince camp and pulled out Morris Day to provide vocals on “Mechanical Emotion”. The song had mild success at R&B radio and got a little notice on the pop airwaves. The ‘Wild Animal’ album eventually peaked at #62 and charted for 23 weeks on the Billboard 200.
