The A Side:
Undress (Extended Version) 6:08
The B Side:
Protect And Serve (LP Version) 5:05
The Brief:
In 1988 Vanity picked up a starring role in the film Action Jackson alongside Carl Weathers and Sharon Stone. In addition to acting in the film, Vanity contributed two songs to the movie’s soundtrack. The track “Undress” was chosen as a single to promote the soundtrack. One of the song’s co-writers was Jerrie Hubbard and the track was produced by Jesse Johnson. The flip side is a rap song from the album that I always found disappointing, why not put Vanity’s other track from the movie on the flip? Oh well, that was over 20 years ago… no point in whining about it now.

This is really, really cool! I wish Vanity had worked more with Jesse Johnson and/or Flyte Tyme. And you’re too right about the b-side . . .
I have Vanity’s “Undress” Promo 12” – A-Side has the Extended Version & B-Side has the LP Version.
Guess that would have been better than the rap catastrophe that was put on the commercial release!
