The Brief:
Four years after the Miss America/Penthouse debacle, Vanessa Williams released her debut album on the Wing/Mercury Records label. The album was ‘The Right Stuff’ and it went on to sell over 500,000 copies and received a Gold certification from the RIAA. The leadoff single in support of ‘The Right Stuff’ was the title track which did very well on the US R&B and Dance charts, just missing the Top 40 on the pop charts.

Awesome post!
Vanessa is one of my favourite R&B singers from the late 80s to mid 90s. Love her cool effortless style.
She knows her own strengths and just doesn’t try too hard to be someone she’s not.
Ballads and jams, she’s got them down!
