OMG No idea this existed! I’m super anxious to hear it. I enjoy this record. Reminds me of my Navy days when I had SOTT, Lovesexy, Jill Jones, Madhouse, & Three O’Clock blaring in my ears to escape the near-mutiny status I had on my brain (pun intended). Such a rich time in Paisley Park history – meaning a lot of material coming out of there in the late 80′s.
yes, even though commercially the PP artists weren’t ripping up the charts, the Prince fans were gobbling up all of the related artists stuff, most of it really good. actually, this song is really good and the 12″ mixes are nice
And the thing is – these weren’t one of this protege groups. It was just folks on the label, who happened to get a Prince track on their record, but had that rather fancy label. Good Question is another that comes to mind, and Tony LeMans. Then you throw in directly related acts like Sheila E., Jill, Madhouse, etc…it was golden, indeed.
