Side A:
Cool (Part I) 3:12

Side B:
Cool (Part II) 3:06

The Brief:
The second of three singles from The Time’s eponymous first album in 1982.  “Cool (Part I)” is edited down to 3:12 from its 10:06 running time on the album.  The B-Side, “Cool (Part II)”, is just a continuation of the song that was, basically, just chopped out of the album track.  “Cool (Part I)” entered the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart on 11/28/81, it became The Time’s second Top 10 hit reaching #7 and residing on the chart for 18 weeks.  The Time’s first foray into Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart occurred on 1/30/83 as “Cool (Part I)” bowed at #94. It only got as high as #90 and stuck around for only 7 weeks. As with “Get It Up”, the only credits listed on the single are “Produced by Morris Day & Jamie Starr”.
