The Brief:
I have read that this single was a promo only release but, the labels on the single appear to be of a commercial release. I bought this 45 used many years after its release so, I can’t say for sure. Anyway, “High Fashion” was the second and final single released from ‘The Family’ album. It entered the Hot Black Singles chart on December 21, 1985 where it made it up to #34 and stayed on the chart for 12 weeks. No action on the Hot 100. Songwriting credits on the A-Side go to St. Paul/Jerome and the B-Side is credited to Eric Leeds. “High Fashion” is presented here in its single edit version with a running time of 3:45.
