The Brief:
For the 1987 LP ‘Electric’, The Cult brought in producer Rick Rubin to guide the recording of the album. The sound of the band was changed dramatically and the record buying public approved as the album was certified Platinum in the US and reached #38 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. “Love Removal Machine” was the first single released from ‘Electric’. The 12” release features an extended version of the song and the non-album cut “Wolf Child’s Blues”.
