The Brief:
From their fifth album, ‘Speaking In Tongues’, released in 1983, “Burning Down The House” would be the Talking Heads highest charting single in the US. The single entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on July 30, 1983 at #84. During its 20 week run on the chart it reached a peak position of #9. This 12” contains the album version of “Burning Down The House” and the cassette versions of “I Get Wild/Wild Gravity” and “Moon Rocks”. The cassette versions were longer than the original, vinyl LP versions. Apparently, the CD release used the longer cassette versions because the running time on these two tracks is the same as what is on my CD of ‘Speaking In Tongues’.
