The Brief:
Ta Mara and The Seen’s lead singer Margaret “Margie” Cox, is a native of Kenitra, Morocco where she lived until age seven, when she and her family moved to Minneapolis. In 1985 she formed a band called The Seen and was noticed by Jesse Johnson who helped the band sign a deal with A&M Records. Jesse produced and co-wrote the band’s debut album and produced their follow-up LP ‘Blueberry Gossip’ in 1988. The first single from that album was the title track which we have here today in the form of a promo 12” with remixes by Keith “K.C.” Cohen and Steve Beltran.

only found out about this sophomore album and its singles when I stumbled upon your blog last year!
Belated thanks for this, Richie!
Great stuff, Richie! Hoping you can track down the album on vinyl next.
Better album than people give it (but definitely not on the same level as the first). “Excite My Life” is still one of my faves from that album. I digress… thanks for this great post!

That would have been The Clash. You guys are really pushing me to stray from my mission of providing quality vinyl content…
I have the tape with Blueberry Gossip on it, but I don’t have the remixes. Thanks for the posting!! [:
