They were signed to A&M Records and recorded under the production of Jesse Johnson. Their self-titled debut LP led off with the single “Everybody Dance” which went to #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 at R&B. Great post! I’ve had this on vinyl since day one and been looking to convert it after all these years. Any chance on the Jesse Johnson 12″ releases?
Jesse next month
Awesome!!! Thanks…as always!
Such a great R&B album, and sung by a White girl!
Everybody Dance (no remix?!?! boo!) is one of my favourite jams from late ’85, and Affecttion is my funky love jam from early ’86!
Thanks for these memories, Richie!
I know, I’ve always wondered why there was no 12″ mix of ED…
OMG! Never thought I’d see this here!
I actually did my own vinyl rip of this years ago, but I can’t wait to hear your rip, no doubt it is miles above my own attempt! What a treat, thank you!
U are most welcome
Actually, this was released on CD in Japan and quickly went out of print. I have a copy and would be happy to rip it for you if you like.
Really? I never knew that… I would like to see the cover scans! Can you do that?
Sure. Do you have an email address? I’ll rip the CD and scan the booklet.
Thank you for sharing! Any of you that wish to have a FLAC rip of the CD can find it here:
http://www.multiupload.com/7AVM20HG5TsO? will you be ‘re-posting’ this from cd?
well, I don’t wanna be selfish and keep it to myself but, this is a vinyl blog… I’ll see what I can do, provided it’s OK with bushidoz?
I’m sure you can bend your own rules – that was the ‘thing’ with all things ‘Purple,Peach & Black etc’ a lot of these mixes etc were only available to the masses (originally) on vinyl – i seen Jill Jones’ cd n they wanted 200 smakka’s for it – eeek – i never saw it anywhere on ‘cd’ when it came out here
dang, maybe I should sell my copy!
manyThanks !!
the great minneapolis sound,
Do you have “Mazarati” lp ? , a another great sound,…
Le Club Marron
I do have the LP but, since I also have it on CD, I’ve not really considered ripping the LP yet. Maybe on down the road I will…
Thanks a million!
Thanks for this, I have on vinyl hadn’t heard in a long time. I too always wondered why no remix of ED. BTW how can I download the cd rip? Can’t seem to find the dl button.
Sorry to say, that link was a victim of the great Megaupload takedown earlier this year. I guess I should edit the comments to note that.
Thanks
