The Brief:
Today is the scheduled release date for the new CD, ‘Gaslight‘ by fDeluxe. fDeluxe is a reunion of the Paisley Park Records artist The Family. If you haven’t ordered a copy, click on the link to the right and support’em. I thought it fitting to post a St. Paul record today in celebration of the new release…
Paul Peterson, known as St. Paul, got his first mass exposure when he was brought in as a member of the second incarnation of The Time. He performed on the ‘Ice Cream Castle’ LP and appeared as a band member in the movie Purple Rain. Once that version of The Time parted ways, Prince formed The Family and brought St. Paul in as co-lead vocalist alongside Susannah Melvoin. The Family lasted for one album and one public appearance. After that St. Paul left the Prince camp to pursue a solo career. Tonight’s 12″ is a promo release in support of his ‘Down To The Wire’ LP on Atlantic Records.

More paisley treats – this one is new to me – thanks!
I’m checking out Rasputin Records tonight for fDeluxe! Thanks for the tip
Lucky enough to see the band on Sunday. They really have a great sound and I am rooting for them. Prince seemed to like the sound of the record he cut on them so much that he absorbed it (and them) into his band.
Thanks for the share.
Thank you!
