The Brief:
Snap! released the album ‘World Power’ in the U.S. in 1993 and it featured the smash single “The Power”. The single hit the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart on May 12, 1990 in the #81 spot and started rocketing up from there. It was the top Power Pick/Sales track two different weeks, 6/9/90 at #28 and 6/23/90 at #21. It rose all the way to #2 before stalling out and spent 22 weeks in the Hot 100. A week later, it hit the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, ascended to #4 and charted for 17 weeks.
