The B Side:
Dancing In The Sheets (Instrumental) 5:00
The Brief:
When Shalamar first came to prominence, the group consisted of Jody Watley, Jeffrey Daniel and Howard Hewett. The group ran up a string of R&B and pop hits from 1978 through 1983 at which point Watley and Daniel left the group. Delisa Davis and Micki Free came onboard and the group laid down “Dancing In The Sheets” for the Footloose soundtrack. The song would be the fourth and last Top 40 hit credited to the band. The extended dance remix on this 12” was mixed by John “Jellybean” Benitez.

Hooray, you’re back in “my world”. (No paisley park crap) <- just my personal opinion.
I love that (S)ound (O)f (L)os (A)ngeles (R)ecords stuff a lot!
Got a lot of Shalamar (9 albums), but this will be the 1. 12"
Thanks for this 1!
Keep It On
you’re welcome SM
Unbelievable that for their brilliance, Shalamar only scored four Top 40 hits!
And just wished there had been more 12″ remixes for the singles off the Footloose soundtrack. Only three were remixed if I’m not wrong.
Thanks for this rip, Richie!
Well,Ric,that’s because there were only three singles released from the ”Footloose” album.
Actually, there were 6 singles released from the soundtrack and all 6 made the Top 40.
you’re welcome Ric
Good one!
Instrumental Version Rare…. Rare… Rare…
Gracias, Gracias, Gracias
Hi Richie,
‘
Personally, I love all your Paisley Park ‘Crap’ !
What’s more ‘Interesting’ was ‘Solar’s’ Deliberate attempt to confuse ‘fans’ and Pretend Jeff n [allegedly] more importantly Jody ‘were still in the Band’.
They were forever pushing ‘HH’ to the foreground = when we all knew who were ‘The Real Stars’ !
