Oh my my my, Samantha Fox… No, the rumors weren’t true, she wasn’t a porn actress, that was a different Samantha Fox but, she wasn’t bashful either, she did numerous topless photos for Page Three of The Sun and was quite a popular “pin-up girl” in her time. She began her singing career in 1986 with the release of her first album ‘Touch Me’. For her second album ‘Samantha Fox’, she enlisted several different producers including Full Force who had been working with Lisa Lisa. “Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)” was her highest charting hit in the US.

What’s not to love about this post… I’m still mad at my parents for ignorantly throwing away all my old Bravo magazines some years ago. Sam was featured heavily around 86/87 if I remember correctly, lot’s of nice pictures… And then she was joined by Sabrina (Boys Boys Boys), another Busenwunder… Quite vivid memories I have actually…
One more thing: I believe someone a few days ago was looking for a CD rip of the instrumental version of A Different Corner by George Michael. I never thought about that as beeing rare, I have it on a stupid new ageish CD called “Reflections – Musik Wie Ein Schöner Traum” (CBS 460152 2, 1987). This is an excellent US 12″, Richie, as it is two for the price of one. In the UK, the two songs were released separately as singles. And I had to buy BOTH the UK and US 12″ for Naughty Girls because the US one had more mixes!
Was a fan of Samantha Fox’s music (and not body parts) since I heard Touch Me (The Blue Mix is fabulous!). But I’m very surprised that she managed to cross over and make it quite big in the US with three Top 10s!!!
Even though it’s not as surprising as her coming out as a lesbian later…LOL!
oh, I was all about her total package and I don’t care what team she plays for

She re-released some of her other cds, too…LOADED with all the mixes and even some I’ve never seen on 12″ before.
How funny, I just posted the music video for “I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night)” on my Facebook a couple of days ago.
An opportunity was really missed with this video.
1) You have a blonde 2) with big boobs…why not do a dream/nightmare-type of video? Sam is in bed, wearing a nighty. While she sleeps, she has dreams that she is being seduced by a spirit. We know it’s a different spirit each night, because the nighty she is wearing is different throughout the video. Anyway, there would be a slow motion chase scene, where Sam is running down a long hallway of the mansion. She runs to her bedroom and falls on her bed, as if she was “surrendering” to this particular spirit of the night. She wakes up in bed, and thinks, “was it just a dream?”
But, then the camera zooms into one of her eyes, and back out. She’s not at home in bed, but she is sitting in front of the mirror in her backstage dressing room. Cut to an outside shot, where there is a marquee above a nightclub that reads “SAMANTHA FOX – LIVE!” Cut back to Samantha on stage performing “I Surrender”. And, who does she spot in the audience? A guy that resembles the Spirit Of The Night that she surrendered to in her dream.
But, no…that wasn’t the video. Instead, we got a short 3 minute version with Sam on a boat…
