The Brief:
The synthesizer fades in and instantly your mind turns to the visual of the mannequin like women with bright red lipstick colored lips and they are swaying, moving and gyrating to the beat of “Simply Irresistible”. Robert is dressed very elegantly in a black suit and silver tie and simply stands at the mic stand and sings the song while the beautiful women surround him. Robert Palmer‘s series of videos in the 80′s featuring beautiful models is a fond memory for those that grew up watching actual music videos on MTV. Buoyed by the popularity of the video, “Simply Irresistible” climbed to #2 on the Hot 100 where it spent two weeks, kept out of the top spot by Guns ‘N Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.

I like Robert Palmer…he’s so musically versatile..from New Wave to Pop to R&B to Broadway to Reggae to Rock…he’s done them all…and so very well!
