The Brief:
Richard Marx is the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Those seven singles came from Marx’s first two albums, ‘Richard Marx’ and ‘Repeat Offender’. In 1991, the album ‘Rush Street’ became his third album release and the lead single sent to radio was “Keep Coming Back” which was the Hot Shot Debut on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of 11/2/91. The following week it was the Power Pick/Airplay track of the week at #34. The song prominently features the late Luther Vandross on background vocals.
