Record Store Day is Saturday, April 21

RSD2012

I’m planning on paying a visit to a few participating, independent record stores this Saturday and try to get my hands on a few of the limited releases that are going to be available.  Here’s what I will be shopping for:

Abba – Voulez-Vouz Extended Dance Remix
Carolina Chocolate Drops/Run DMC – You Be Illin
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals: Live at the Legendary Sun Studios
Ryan Adams – Heartbreak A Stranger / Black Sheets Of Rain
The Black Keys – El Camino
The Chris Robinson Brotherhood – New Suede Shoes
The Civil Wars – Billie Jean
The Clash – London Calling 2012
The Cult – For The Animals

Who else plans on venturing out for Record Store Day and what records will you be looking for?  Hit the comments and let’s discuss…

I’ll pay a visit to a couple in the area here in Baltimore. I’m checking for some rare 80′s hip hop/r&b 12″ singles.

  2. DJ VYL says:

Paul Jabara promo 12″ remixes from casablanca. Hard to find!

Heh, I don’t think you guys quite understand, the records I listed are part of the exclusive releases that will be available Saturday as part of Record Store Day. Here’s the full list of what will be available: http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases

Is there gonna be bidding involved or is it first come first served?
No participating shops where I come from…but nonetheless, Happy Record Shopping, Richie! Put on your game face and return with conquests bountiful!

First come first served. Just gotta visit participating indie wrecka stows. Didn’t get to go last year cause of the Fun-son’s senior prom. Looking forward to it!

  5. Carlos says:

I would love to own Paul Weller…

  6. Sean says:

I would take that Shuggie Otis 45.

For 2013, how about the full version of “Computer Blue” on 12″?

  7. Christian says:

Probably staying home this year, but I usually venture to Amoeba in San Francisco. That sparkly blue Abba is enticing.

  8. andee says:

would love the Bowie Starman 7″ but I live in UK, so no chance, concur Computer Blue or howabout releasing stuff remastereed, I’ll be long gone before this happens….shame

  9. Sean says:

Passed on the 7″ box of T.Rex’s Electric Warrior.

    I gotta be responsible.

  10. djrichiep says:

I got everything on my want list except for Ryan Adams. Wax n Facts only had 2 copies and they were snatched up by people ahead of me in line. Other than that, no disappointments!

    • Sean says:

Let me know what you think about London Calling. It is a favorite of mine and both of my older kids. (How could it not be?)

      • djrichiep says:

well, it will be a while, the house I live in during the summer has no turntable so, it’ll be Oct-Nov before I get to listen to any of them…
