Funky Town (Dance Mix) 6:32
The B Side:
Funky Town 3:40
Lies Are Nothing 3:58
The Brief:
In some cases, lightning does strike twice. In the world of pop music, a good song can transcend time and, in the case of “Funkytown”, that was proven in 1980 and 1987. In 1980, the goup Lipps, Inc. took “Funkytown” all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Seven years later, an Australian New Wave band named Pseudo Echo returned the song to the top 10 of the charts with their rockier version of the song. Coincidentally, “Funkytown” was the only Top 40 hit for either act.
The Billboard Charts:
| Chart | Debuted | Debut Pos. | Peak Pos. | Wks on Chart |
| Hot 100 | 5/16/87 | 83 | 6 | 15 |
| Hot Dance/Disco | 6/6/87 | 4 | 10 |

I agree, both versions, though different is styles, are pretty awesome. Goes to show what a catchy song Funkytown is!
