The A Side:
Mountains 3:58
The B Side:
Alexa de Paris 3:20
The Brief:
The second single released from the ‘Parade’ album was written by Wendy & Lisa together with Prince. The tune is called “Mountains” and is presented here in its 7” version. This is the only track from Parade that features the entire Revolution. ‘Parade’ was basically the last project by Prince to fully credit the Revolution as the group disbanded after these recordings (yes, Ernest, I know SOTT). Following the end of The Revolution, Wendy & Lisa went on to pursue their career as a duo. The b-side of this single, “Alexa de Paris” has never been available on CD in the 7” edit.

OMG you did not just name check me! LOL! Too funny. However, you were right in how you worded it as the “last project”, opposed to “last song”. But I suppose, if we’re being technical, “1999: The New Master” was the last song credited to Prince And The Revolution (although not a new recording). But still – was there anything on CB as a Revolution song? I’m on a sugar rush, so I can’t think straight anyway. hehehehehe
I’m so used to the longer version of “Alexa De Paris”, I’m not sure I even remember this 7″ version. It’ll be fun to listen back to both shorter versions.
Yeah, I knew if anyone would call me on it,it would be you, LOL. And, damned if you didn’t come up with some other examples anyway! Heh heh, enjoy the record!
Thank you!
Rich
Fab stuff as always, have you started redoing the prince 7″ collection??
This record was indeed part of the “virtual” 7″ singles collection but, you will only see them in the future as individual blog posts, no more “collections”
Thanks for sharing the music and knowledge with us mere mortal prince fans
THANKS
