What a GREAT tens days it’s been!!! As a grateful recipient of your handy work I can’t thank you enough. Back in the day I missed quite a few of these…only so much money and WAY too many 12ers to choose from. I sure miss those days when a friend and I would go music shopping on Saturdays. The usual purchase was 10-12 LPs each…the pocketbook was stripped nearly bare but my records crates showed my obsessive love of music;)
I remember those days too. My parents used to fuss at me for buying so many records. I had a cassette case that held 60 tapes and shaped like a briefcase. I used to put records in it to sneak them in the house! Guess I could have been sneaking in worse things. Music has always been my drug.
This b-side is one of my favorite Prince songs. Was this a double-sided single? I remember HOT THING was all over the radio. Back in the day. When I was young.
Actually, Hot Thing did chart. On the Hot Black Singles chart it debuted on 12/12/87, peaked at 14 and was on the chart for 14 weeks. On the Hot 100 it debuted on 2/6/88 at #80, only got as high as 63 and dropped off after 9 weeks on the chart. On the Hot Dance/Disco charts, it was listed as one entry with U Got The Look.
yeah, I was about to ask, didn’t ICNTTPOYM chart in the R&B charts?
then I realized Hot Thing was chosen as the single to promote on that chart.
It’s been quite a royal ride so far, Richie!
