    yup does the trick

Love both sides of this!!! ‘Lovesexy’ really didn’t feature anything for Top 40 radio, but to me that’s its strength. Though I did detest the “1 uncut track” thing on the CD. ;-)

I agree Marty. Thank goodness for the age of do-it-yourself digital editing.

probably not a good time to say that I managed to snag a tracked promo CD when Lovesexy was released…

        • Sean says:

Yeah, I did plenty of fast forwarding through my CD but the “one track” thing had its desired effect: I listened to the disc as a whole quite a bit.

          Thanks for the rip.

    • There are actually three versions of Lovesexy, two of which have song cuts. One is the German (?) pressing. The other, that I found quite by accident, is the “promo” (but not with a gold stamp as other promos). Each song has a fade at the end of it, making it radio friendly; although it ruins some of the songs with a definite ending. Still a neat treasure to find.

The seemingly non-stop output from Prince by the end of the 80s made his releases less anticipated, and they reflected in sales and chart position. (The public strangely don’t have that problem with Rihanna or Katy Perry now.)
Still, Lovesexy is Prince’s first #1 album on the UK charts, but he had to wait till 1994 for his first UK #1 single.
The British public also warmed up to this album more, giving him three UK Top 30 Singles.

    say what you like
But this was the days of Vinyl
and 12 inch singles were a art-form-product in their own right
I used to try and get the ‘US import’ of stuff i liked a they usuakky came with a proper sleeve for a start LOL
and usually sometimes 6 or mixes
When in the UK 1 song 1 side was considered the ‘norm’
And to milk fans ‘the more’
‘Another 12 inch’ with a different mix on side 1 would be put out
Just ask any Dead or Alive or Depeche Mode fan lol
