The Brief:
‘The Secret Of Association’ is the second album released by Brit Paul Young. “I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down” was the first and fifth single release in support of the album. It was originally released in 1984 and went to #9 on the UK Singles Chart. After the success of “Everytime You Go Away” in the US, “Playhouse” was re-released and broke the Top 20 in the US. The 12” “Ya Ya Mix” was remixed by Jone Potoker who has worked his magic for other artists such as Paul McCartney and Phil Collins.

    OH YA YA!
    Cover versions are usually iffy and tricky…
    BUT
    Paul just has the knack of turning these remakes out and often surpass the originals. This is one prime example.

    This is a brilliant mix and a much better length than the 9 min UK 12″ which goes on a bit. We did get this version as a second 12″ release, but I never knew it was called the Ya Ya Mix until now (plain old US Remix here).
