The A Side:
Wouldn’t It Be Good (Long Version) 6:51
The B Side:
Wouldn’t It Be Good (LP Version)
The Brief:
Englishman Nik Kershaw released his first career album, ‘Human Racing’, in 1984. The second single from that LP was “Wouldn’t It Be Good” which went on to reach #4 on the UK Single Chart. This promo 12” is the very record that I used to play at my college radio station during my first year of college. It was one of several parting “gifts” I received when I left the station. Sorry about the station’s call letters stamp on the label, it’s kinda sentimental to me…

Ace post!
I love Nik Kershaw! He was just as big as Paul Young and Howard Jones in the UK, but couldn’t translate the success like the other two. A real darn shame! Coz his singles were awesome!
His debut album holds a special place in my heart, as is this single. I’m glad it brings fond memories to you too.
Nik Kershaw’s first album was his best imho and ‘Wouldn’t it be good’ was and still is a great pop single. His first album has just been re-released on cd at a fair price and includes a bonus cd with many of his remixes and b-sides, some (like ‘Dancing Girls’, another favorite of mine) being released first time on cd. Thank you for the rip!
you’re welcome
Is it possible to get enough of this song?! I think not! Thanks for a great upload, especially for the Long Version which I’ve yet to hear.
you’re welcome, I really love the Long Version, hope you do too!
