The Brief:
“If It Isn’t Love” was the first single chosen to be released from New Edition’s “Heart Break” LP of 1988. The album was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and was the first LP that featured Johnny Gill as a member of the group. The 12” release presents remixes by Steve Hodge.

I am surprised this stopped short at #2 on the R&B charts. A sure fire #1 if there is one.
I think they are the only R&B group with all members enjoying great success outside of New Edition.
I dunno, I think The Time might qualify along those lines…
