The Brief:
On February 13, 1993 two songs entitled “Sweet Thing” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. Mary J. Blige was the Hot Shot Debut that week at #47 with her song and Mick Jagger debuted at #84 with his track. Ms. Blige went on to score big with her single while Mr. Jagger’s tune didn’t fare so well as #84 was as high as it got and after just 5 weeks on the chart, it tumbled off and out of sight. Mick, by the way, is the lead singer of a band called the Rolling Stones. You may have heard of them…
