The Brief:
This was Michael’s second of three singles from his 1983 debut album, ‘Bossa Nova Hotel’. On September 24, 1983 it made its entry on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart at #73. It became Michael’s second Top 40 hit (“Maniac” was his first) getting as high as #34 and staying on the chart for 10 weeks. Songwriting credits go to David Batteau, Michael Sembello and Danny Sembello.

absolutely loved the “Bossa Nova Hotel” album. It was nothing like you would have expected after the “Maniac” hit for Sembello. The album was much more soulful than pop really. Thanks
