The Brief:
“Dance (The Mega-Diss)” is a Miami Bass record on the 4-Sight Records label that received regional airplay in the southeastern US in 1988. MC Player sampled Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” over a bassy hip-hop beat to create this tasty little rap confection.
4-Sight Records was originally setup in the back of Royal Sounds record store at the Lauderhill Mall in Ft Lauderdale, FL. The label was run by Billy Hines and it is said that at one point Luther “Luke” Campbell became the biggest investor in the label while simultaneously operating Skyywalker Records.

Never heard before now…I love both rock and “old school” rap…what a hybrid!! I would tag it as “rap for my rocka posse.”
THANKS MUCH!
heh, you’re welcome
This is new to me as well, but yet nostalgic when I sampled it. Really takes me back to that period in time. Plus it’s sample-licious too!
Thanks Richie!
