The Brief:
In the summer of 1990, Maxi Priest shot to the top of the US pop charts with his gold selling single “Close To You”. The song was from his first LP for the Charisma Records label. The album was ‘Bonafide’ and it was also certified gold as it peaked at #47 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

      Also, the Phil Chill’s Rap Sensation mix is by far my favorite…and one of my favorite remixes from the early 90′s. I LOVE the use of the scratching technique and the stutter/transform effect.

        I have some Bobby Brown and Today, I didn’t really follow Teddy all that closely so, there may be some more of his production work in my collection, I’m just not sure what it all may be.

    A medium sized hit in the UK, and I remember being very surprised it crossover and became a #1 smash in the US! But I think the Soul II Soul movement then did help its course.
