It was two? TWO! years ago today that the first post was put online at blog.djrichiep.com. Since that time, the blog has grown exponentially thanks to many wonderful friends like you! As I embark on my third full year of blogging, I want to thank each and every one of you that have participated through commenting, liking, tweeting and donating. And now…on with the countdown…
Prince’s 1990 theatrical release Graffiti Bridge featured cameo appearances by George Clinton, Tevin Campbell and Mavis Staples. Mavis’ character was Melody Cool, a role Prince had originally envisioned for Patti Labelle. The song “Melody Cool” was featured in the movie and also appeared on her 1993 Paisley Park Records LP. That album was ‘The Voice’ and was named by People magazine as one of the Top Ten Albums of 1993.
