The Brief:
Loverboy, the greatest headband sporting rock group to ever get onstage! Hailing from Canada, Loverboy originally signed with Columbia Records of Canada in early 1980, recorded and released their self-titled debut in Canada and immediately enjoyed huge sales reports. Columbia Records US took notice of the success in Canada and signed the band and released the album in the US in late 1980. The band went on to enjoy the success of four multi-platinum selling albums during the 80′s. The 12″ in tonight’s post was issued for promotion only in between the release of their debut LP and the follow up ‘Get Lucky’. The three tracks on this record were recorded by Westwood One during a concert at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on April 17, 1981.
