The Brief:
Taking a cue from Prince, Jesse Johnson involved himself with several side projects as an outlet for his music. One of those side projects was a band called da Krash . The band released one album under that name, underwent a change in personnel and came back as Kool Skool to release another album. Both iterations of the band were produced and provided with songs by Jesse. The single “Waste My Time” came from their one and only self-titled LP released in 1990. When I picked this 12″ up, I was intrigued by the names of some of the remixes, “Now’s The Time Mix” and “Jungle Love Remix”… thinking there might be some samples of The Time or some grooves in the remix that borrowed from The Time’s songs. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and, overall, this is a pretty bland sounding song and remixes. But, it’s in my collection so, here’s your copy…
