Junior – Do You Really (Want My Love) 12″ UK Promo

Junior - Do You Really (Want My Love) 12" Promo Junior - Do You Really (Want My Love) 12" Promo

The A Side:

Do You Really (Want My Love) (John Luongo Remix)

The B Side:
Somebody (Extreme Mix)
Do You Really (Want My Love)

The Brief:
One of the tracks chosen for the soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop was Junior’s “Do You Really (Want My Love)”. The song received little to no airplay in the US but, was one of the better tunes on the soundtrack in my opinion. This 12” is a promo only copy from the UK. Included with the record is a letter to the DJ’s from Pete Tong who is an English DJ for BBC Radio 1 and currently the resident DJ at the Pacha nightclub in Ibiza. He is writing promotional copy for the record and notes that the song has “undergone a severe John Luongo remix”. I included a scan of the letter for your viewing pleasure…

Pete Tong is the godfather of the UK and Europe club scene!
His profile may not be as high as some Superstar DJs (Paul Oakenfold, David Guetta) in the US, but his influence in the UK club scene is massive! He breaks or makes tunes. If you can just get his to playlist your new club tune as a usual suspect in his Essential Mix radio show, you get both credibility and sales!
And yes, he did start off in the industry as a record company promo guy, and he even founded his own dance label ffrr, subsidiary of London records, in the late 80s. I can’t wait to read his press release for this.
    Thanks Richie!

Great track. Thanks. Haven’t heard the John Luongo mix. My non-promo copy has a remix and a dub version by someone else.
