Wow! Another classic from my youth. I forgot about this one.
Where’s the link to the purchase this version as a cd single?
This 12″ was never released as a CD single. I like to think that is one of the positive points of this blog, making these records available again in the digital age…
This is new to me, but with it being what it is, and winning at Soul Train, I think it’s gonna be funny and fun!
Thanks Richie for a newie!
you’re welcome Ric!
Huh, What ?
I meant to do that
High profile! One of my early favourites! Back then it was the beat, that “get busy, y’all”, “huh what” that kept it going for me. I think I still own a copy of the UK 12″ from CoolTempo/Chrysalis.
Your blog postings made me buy Vinyl again, a huge inspiration to complete some artists. Yesterday three 12″es arrived: “A Nightmare On My Street” by DJ JJ&FP, “Square Dance Rap UK 12″ by Sir Mix A Lot and “Change The Beat” by Fab Five Freddy. Thanks for bringing up these “original” times again.
Some nice records you just got. I have the first one, want the 2nd and not familiar with the 3rd one, other than F5F, I have heard of him.
Uh wow, what an awesome posting of a forgotten track…
It kicks me back in time to all that Streetsounds Main Series and Electro Sampler stuff which we’ve heard up and down in the car when we’re driving into the weekend’s fun…
I remember that one day, we (4guys ‘n me) stood outside a club, opened the trunk and let the bass outside…
From minute to minute more ppl. came outside the club and do the party around the car…
I’m sure that Pee-Wee’s Dance was one of the tracks we played
Not familiar with the Streetsounds, I bought several CDs of the Street Jams series which was quite similar…
thanks for this monster jam!!
the streetsounds electro series are awesome mixes…
’bout that fab 5 freddy :
“Most copies went to scratchers and turntablists for the sample “beep aaahhhh this stuf is really fresh!” but both sides are excellent electro/hiphop tracks with a killer vocoder, monstrous bass, ripping synthstabs and french lyrics… excellent release!”
last seconds of the b-side…
french lyics? seriously? or damned auto-correct? anyway, thanks for the info on F5F and enjoy the “Love”
