The Brief:
“Street Freeks” was a single only release originally pressed by Write On Records and then picked up by MCA Records in 1984. The song was written and produced by Rich Cason for his good friend and blues legend Jimmy Lewis. Rich Cason has been working in the R&B music business since the 60’s and has worked with many legendary artists such as The Temptations and Al Wilson. A wonderful biography of his career along with several interviews can be found here. Rich was taken from us in 2007 after a long bout with cancer.
