Hi. Been visiting this site for a while. Thanks for your work. Really interesting to look inside other collector’s crates.
This release was yet unknown to me. Also that Levan remixed it. This is a late Garage time remix (which closed in ’87). A little light sounding for a Levan remix but interesting because he already goes with the upcoming R&B/Swing trend. Guess I’ll stick with the Dub. Thanks for diggin’ it!
You’re welcome FP, Levan did some masterpiece remixes over the years and to my ears, this one fits right in with his classics.
Nice post (however I always preferred the Victor Flores remixes to Larry’s). Due to limited storage space I remember selling this 12 and keeping the promo version containing the Flores mixes.
A couple of months ago I ripped the Flores mixes wishing I hadn’t sold off the Levan mixes. Then what do you do? You read my mind, and post it. Many thanks.
I’ve been following your blog for quite a while now. I just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work.
I recently picked up a US promo double record set of this track with the Flores mix and a mix by Taavi Mote’. Have not had a chance to play or listen yet but, some day in the future, the Flores and Mote’s mixes will get posted here as well. Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for another gr8 post, Richie!
And my introduction to the wonderful Ms White!
I too owned the UK 12″ with the Flores Remix and only know of this Levan one years later.
Looking forward to listen to this….
PASSION!
You’re welcome Ric. I like the Levan mix but, then, I’ve never heard the Flores mix. Now that I’ve gotten a copy of the record with the Flores mix, I’ll soon get to hear and compare myself.
Thanks again. I also haven’t heard the Flores Mix, but played this one to death.
You’re welcome DoggieD!
Thank you very much!
You’re welcome Taylor
wow, this record really takes me back. I started doing noon mixes on a small am station in my hometown milwaukee back in ’86 & I remember getting this 12 inch at the station. I remember it being very easy to program, never realizing it was a larry levan mix, or for that matter probably not caring much at the time who he was.
I’ve been downloading a bunch of vinyl only memories from your blog for quite some time. since you appreciate comments i’ll also share my stories & the importace to me of every record I download moving forward
Hey Fresh G, that is great, feel free to do so, the more interaction here the better for everyone. Thank you.
