The Brief:
Not only is “Things Can Only Get Better” my favorite Howard Jones song but, this 12” made it even sweeter as it has the LP and Extended Versions of the song along with mixes of “What Is Love?” and “New Song”. “Things Can Only Get Better” is from Howard’s 1985 ‘Dream Into Action’ LP that reached #10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It was his highest charting hit in the US at the time of its release.

I have to say that this 12″ was one of the sole reasons why my Summer of ’85 was so outstanding! Another classic! I had this 12″ in 3 diff. colored jackets…
Definitely a fantastic song. What Is Love is still my favorite, if for no other reason than it was the first Howard Jones’ song I heard.
