How Do I?
Was talking with a friend this past weekend and realized that he didn’t know that he could actually download and listen to the records I post here at the blog so, I thought I would put together a quick tutorial on how to get the records and listen to them.
These instructions are for Windows-based PCs, I do not have Apple/Mac computers…. Go to bottom of post for those instructions.
Before you download any files from the blog, if you do not have the WinRAR utility installed on your PC, go here to download and install it. Simply save the file to a location on your PC, that you can easily find, and once the download is complete, locate the downloaded file, double click it to run it and basically just accept the default options it offers as you go through the install wizard. This is a one time install, you won’t need to take this step each time you want to download a record from the blog.
Now, either click the blog post title or the link that says “Continue reading” to open the blog post for the record you want to download. Towards the bottom of the post/page you will see 2 images that say FLAC and MP3. FLAC is a lossless compression for audio files and MP3 is the standard audio format for iPod, iPhone, etc. Click either format you wish to download and save the file to a location on your computer that you can locate for the next step…
Once the download is complete, find the downloaded file and right-click it, look for the WinRAR options and choose “Extract here…” to unpack the audio files from the RAR file. You will be prompted to enter a password, the password on all files here at the blog is: funwithvinyl
That’s it, you have unpacked the file and now have the complete record on your hard drive; audio and images.

I have a Mac and I go to the mp3 or FLAC Link and Hold The Control Button & Click then there’ll be a list of options click (Download Linked File) and it should start downloading. I have my downloads automatically sent to the download folder on the mac. I Use UnRarx to extract the files once the file is loaded. go to password it has keys above it and type whatever the password is and finally you have to click The Extract Section it looks like a File with Green arrows Circling around it then go to the download folder and load them to you Itunes or whatever you use to play music. Hope That helps for Mac Users.
