The Brief:
Once again, the team of Herb Alpert, Lisa Keith and Janet Jackson under the production of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis came up with a Top 40 hit. “Making Love In The Rain” was the third single from the ‘Keep Your Eye on Me’ album. This time, Lisa Keith sang lead and Janet Jackson provided backing vocals. To date, it is the last Top 40 hit bearing Herb Alpert’s name.
Programming change… Normally there would be a post tomorrow but, I am changing Fun With Vinyl’s posting schedule effective today. I am cutting back from posting Monday-Saturday to Monday-Friday. I ran some numbers and I have been averaging 300 records a year since I started blogging. Cutting back to Mon-Fri drops that down to 250 records per year which will give me a little breathing room on having records recorded, declicked, edited, scanned, researched and written up. Might not seem like much but, I think this pace will allow me more time to do a better job and keep the fun going…

UK and Germany pressings included a remix of this track, the instrumental version and “The Herb Alpert CD Megamix”.

I was hoping that you have the UK 12″ with not only the instrumental but the Herb Alpert CD Megamix. Not sure if the 12″ Mix for MLITR is a special mix, most likely the album version me thinks.
