The Brief:
Wow, old Herb generated more discussion than anything I’ve posted in a while. Very nice to see and I really appreciate the commenters. I would really really really like to see more people join in and provide comments. Even just the simple “Thank you” comments are appreciated by me more than you know. So, I am not exactly sure where this special promo set fits in the chronology of singles from the ‘Keep Your Eye On Me’ LP by Herb Alpert. I make the assumption that it came out in conjunction with promotion for “Making Love In The Rain” since that single is included along with the two previous singles. The set is pressed on red, white (well, clear) and blue vinyl and includes some additional remixes not available on the commercial 12” releases. One of those being the Remix of “Making Love In The Rain” that I believe many of you wanted to have, so here it is. Now, I need to track down the UK or German 12″ with the Instrumental and that megamix by Dakeyne…

Herb Alpert – Keep Your Eye On Me Promo 12″ x 3 kan niet gevonden worden.
Kun je hem nog een keer uploaden. Thanks!
Fixed. Enjoy.
There is something wrong here, right?
Yep, there was, should be fixed now.
Excellent. Didn’t know this was even out there. Unable to download it at the moment as both files come up with a ‘page not found’ error. Will try again later.
Yep, my mistake, had it in the wrong folder. Should be good now.
Oh no! I just got your email (and have been looking for this tune for quite a bit) but your links are already down
Nope, just a screwup on my end, fixed now.
Same with me!
Try again
I Appreciated this so much. i can’t wait for the link to work. I was looking to find the “Diamonds” mixes from this cd single: http://www.discogs.com/Herb-Alpert-Diamonds/release/1158348 . I had no idea some of them were on this 12″ promo set. I don’t say thanks nearly enough for everything I download, but it is much appreciated. Thanks again.
You’re welcome, links are fixed now.
Working now – you’re a PEACH and we all can’t thank you enough for the amazing music!
Good deal, thanks CC.
thanks a lot, loved this album when it came out! i’ve been a vinyl collector for a long time, but have never seen this one! what a treat!
You’re welcome, enjoy!
Fantastico!!!! I never knew about this release before, truly a gem!!! =)
Enjoy Marty
No Joke this is A MAZ ING – you are one helluva collector
Thank you AH
Thanks for this
you’re welcome
Thank You Very Much.
nice alias
you’re welcome
YEAH BABY! I was searching for this 3×12″ Promo on the internet to buy it! I will keep on searching since it’s a very nice set, but it’s always good to have a nice rip in my files. BIG BIG thank you!
You are quite welcome my friend, enjoy.
I don’t think you understand the impact of this particular 12” and the last one you posted as well. This is one of my (and a lot of others) favorite songs & records. The extended version is not available anywhere except for on this 12” and don’t even get me started about the remix. I own both of these, but my collection has been boxed up forever. Thank you very much for ripping this because when I do get to finally reunite with my vinyl, it will be one less record I have to rip. Great work. Great showcase. Thank You.
Oh yeah one more note…Thanks for the ready for the world 12”s too. I had been bugging DJ Paul T to rip Digital Display for a long time and you came along and did it. thanks again.
Thanks DJ, I guess, since I have had those records at my disposal for so long, they were just familiar to me. I am just happy that they have struck such a strong chord with everyone and have brought a lot of people out to comment. I am anxious for that trend to continue. Glad I could also fill a hole for you on the RFTW records.
Thanks for this surprise. US 12″ Promos were almost impossible to get over here in Germany. The first thing to our eyes were UK imports. I also own the UK 12″es of KYEOM and Diamonds. The remix of MLITR is a rare gem. I remember hearing it on a DJ’s tape back then and I desperately was searching for it. Until now… thanks.
Again, I guess, since I have owned this promo for so long, the rarity of it never was apparent to me. I am very happy that so many people have had a chance to hear this set that normally would not have been able to.
Who would’ve thought it is Herb of all artists who lured all the FWVers out of their shells?!?!?
But I don’t blame them, coz this is a stunning post!
Thanks for finally solving the Remix Mystery for MLITR. There is indeed a Remix!
Plus more remixes for Diamonds, and that Extended for KYEOM.
Thank you Richie!
Isn’t it wonderful Ric? Some days it feels like it’s just you and me on the FWV island, I am so happy to see all these commenters come out and speak up. I just hope it continues! Enjoy some Herb my friends!
Thank you
You’re welcome Taylor
This is a fantastic promo set, thanks for posting this, I would love to own this on vinyl myself !
It is a nice set, guess I was fortunate to snag it years ago. Hey, to all my readers, be sure and check out eightiesvinyl’s blog, too: http://eightiesvinyl.wordpress.com/
awesome post, as always.
Hey, I keep getting up to 71MB during the download, and I keep getting a “network error” message… I’m using Chrome… Should I use IE instead?
Browser shouldn’t matter but yeah, try IE and see. Let me know…
Sorry for the wait, but it worked on IE. Thanks! And thanks for having the BEST site ever! Keep it comin’!
