The Brief:
In 1985, Greg Kihn released his 12th album since his debut in 1976. This offering was titled “Citizen Kihn” and spawned the top 40 charting single “Lucky”. The song first appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart on 2/16/85 at #72. It ascended to #30 and disappeared from the chart after 12 weeks. “Lucky” also spent 7 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Disco chart where it got as high as #16. It was to be, however, Greg’s last appearance on the pop charts. The song was written by Greg Kihn and Steve Wright while remixing duties on this 12” were handled by Rusty Garner and Paul Sabu, “An Endless Music Mix”.
