The Brief:
The second of two LP’s that George Clinton released on Paisley Park Records managed to get as high as #31 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The two singles released from the album performed weakly on the charts, spending only seven weeks each on the Hot Black Singles chart. “Martial Law (Hey Man…Smell My Finger)” was the final chapter in Clinton’s record contract with Paisley Park Records.
