Since the release of this collection, I have obtained my own personal copies of the 12″ releases of “Just As Long As We’re Together”, “Sexy Dancer” and “Pop Life (UK)”.  This release now includes my rips vice the borrowed ones.

Always save the best for last, right? This collection of 33 vinyl cuts came about from a discussion about Prince tracks that have never been available on CD or as an official lossless digital download, vinyl only (well, maybe cassette or 8-track, but…really?). I’ve put them through the same process as all my other vinyl issues, so hopefully you will enjoy these tracks. Included here are single edits, remixes, extended and dub versions from Prince that have not seen an official lossless digital release.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I took ‘Just As Long As We’re Together (Disco Mix)’, ‘Soft And Wet (Disco Mix)’, ‘Sexy Dancer (Long Version)’ and ‘Pop Life (Extended Version)’ from ‘T’s 12″ Archive V2.0′. I took ‘Just As Long As We’re Together (Edit)’, ‘Still Waiting (Edit)’, ‘All The Critics Love U In New York (Edit)’ & ‘Baby I’m A Star (Edit)’ from ’7 Inch In The Computer Volume 1 1978-1986′. I ripped these eight four tracks from lossless sources and put them through the same ClickRepair process that I have used on all of my vinyl conversions. The remaining 25 29 tracks were all taken from my personal record collection.

This is the end of the road for large collections of vinyl rips being posted as Fun With Vinyl. How I do it: Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable w/Audio Technica AT440MLa phono cartridge via analog connection to a Yamaha RX-Z1 A/V Receiver which goes analog to a Sony PCM-R300 DAT deck. The DAT deck does the analog to digital conversion and the audio signal is then sent digitally through a Turtle Beach Catalina sound card and recorded via Cool Edit Pro as a wav file on my computer. The wav file is then processed with ClickRepair, trimmed/edited in Cool Edit Pro and converted to FLAC. All FLAC files have been verified with Trader’s Little Helper. I guess the simplified lineage would be: Vinyl>WAV>FLAC
