I remember this being the only artwork I ever sent back to squirrelgrease asking for a change.  I was so pleased with my “witty phrase” Warning: Contains Prince-like Substance that I wanted it to be included in the cover art.  Originally, the warning “sticker” wasn’t on there…

The tracks in this issue have either a direct or indirect involvement from Prince. Some tracks were written and produced by Prince. Some are just songs that Prince wrote and were either given to the artist or are simply just cover versions that Prince had no input in. Some of it is so cheesy that you just have to listen to it at least once for a full appreciation! Also in here is the “Special Medley” from Sheila E. that should have been in Volume 1. I missed it the first time around so, I figured this was the best place to squeeze it in. Here’s an eclectic mix of album cuts and 12″ versions from, as always, vinyl and in lossless quality for your listening pleasure.

How I do it: Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable w/Audio Technica AT440MLa phono cartridge via analog connection to a Yamaha RX-Z1 A/V Receiver which goes analog to a Sony PCM-R300 DAT deck. The DAT deck does the analog to digital conversion and the audio signal is then sent digitally through a Turtle Beach Catalina sound card and recorded via Cool Edit Pro as a wav file on my computer. The wav file is then processed with ClickRepair, trimmed/edited in Cool Edit Pro and converted to FLAC. All FLAC files have been verified with Trader’s Little Helper. I guess the simplified lineage would be: Vinyl>WAV>FLAC
