The Brief:
During my teen years in the mid to late eighties, the local R&B radio station, WJIZ, had a Sunday afternoon DJ who would play some of the coolest stuff, techno-funk, electro, extended and remixed tracks, anything, just all over the place. This particular record is one I remember from those days. It didn’t enjoy massive success by any means as it didn’t even enter the Hot 100 or R&B Singles charts. It was written and produced by Rich Cason who had a long and successful career in music, read this great article on him.

New one for me again
Wow! I had never heard of this track before, but it is indeed a KILLER groove! Almost sounds like a Kraftwerk knock-off in the background, but the electrobeats with the vocoder/robot vocals make this awesome.
It is a nice obscure track, I love it, glad you picked it up.
