The Brief:
By 1987, the funk outfit known as the Bar-Kays was slowly splitting up and grinding to a halt. In 1988, the band released their last LP for Mercury Records. Focus was an offshoot of the Bar-Kays that featured former keyboardist Mark Bynum on vocals and Howard Redmond, Jr. with production work by James Alexander.
