The Brief:
The first time I ever heard Fetchin Bones was while their album was being played in-store while I was shopping at Wax N Facts in Atlanta, GA in the late 80’s. At that time, I was primarily a fan of R&B/Dance music and thought that what I was hearing sounded similar to a train wreck. But, a nostalgic listen years later led me to appreciate their music more than I originally had. This single, “Super Freak”, is a cover of Rick James’ 1981 hit. It didn’t have any chart success that I could find but, it is a great cover song, give it a listen.
