The A Side:
Wild Thing 5:27
The B Side:
It’s Live 3:15
It’s Live (Echo-pella) 3:15
Swing It! 4:21
The Brief:
In 1966, The Troggs took “Wild Thing” all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has been covered since by numerous artists including, Jimi Hendrix, Sam Kinison and X. In 1988, Euro-K took their turn at trying to put a new spin on it with their rap-style cover of the song. Perhaps they were influenced by Run-D.M.C.’s success with “Walk This Way”? It was on the same record label, too. Yeah, I think the formula was there but, the chart success wasn’t. Listening to it now, it just sounds like a bad novelty record.

that’s the mystique of the pop charts…you can follow the formula and it’s still not a guaranteed hit!
But I’m always game to check out something I’ve never heard before, even if it’s a “bad novelty record”. Thanks!
so you featured the Good yesterday, the Bad today, will it be the Ugly tomorrow? LOL!
oh no, tomorrow will definitely NOT be ugly
