The A Side:
Eaten Alive (Hot Extended Dance Mix) 5:51
The B Side:
Eaten Alive (Instrumental) 5:51
The Brief:
Say what you will about Diana Ross but, she can bring out the superstar talent when she goes into the studio to record. This record boasts a list of well known artists from start to finish. “Eaten Alive” was co-written by Barry & Maurice Gibb with Michael Jackson. Barry & Michael worked on the production of the song and it was remixed by Francois Kevorkian & Ron St. Germain. Despite all the heavy hitters, the song failed to make the Top 40 but did fare better on the R&B and dance charts.

Many thanks for this amazing 12″. Ms. Ross in the 80s…..
you are welcome
Thanx!!
you’re welcome
Diana Ross + Michael Jackson + Bee Gees + Kevorkian couldn’t set the Hot 100 ablaze back in 1985. It was almost AH AH…eaten alive…LOL!
Quite the shocker!
Still, this is a brilliant 80s R&B Pop Dance single in my books, and I love it.
Thanks for your rip, Richie and Happy Weekend!
yeah, hard to believe that one missed
Hello Richie. This post triggered a memory of a rare Diana Ross 12″ track. Have you ever heard the promo-only 12″; ‘Up Front’ – Special Club Mix (6:56)? ‘Up Front’ is from the 1983 LP “Ross”.
not familiar with that one
I have this 12” but now I can have your HQ rip!
I still love the aggressive beat of this 12” mix.
Thanks for sharing!
Dirk
U R welcome
Such a travesty that this single performed so poorly on the pop charts. I will never understand it. Thanks for this one, it’ll be nice to have both tracks in high quality and from one source!
enjoy!
To me it’s in the same ‘camp’ of song like The Jackson’s – State Of Shock -Really just a duet between Michael Jackson & Mick Jagger – but it had to ‘slip in under the Radar’ as this – Yes ‘The Production’ is full of BIG NAMES – but THE ACTUAL Song is QUITE LIMP
That there is I’ve read and heard many more ‘Big Name stuff’ better than this ‘WILL THIS DO’ effort………..
Bruce Sprinsteen & Donna Summer – Protection is ‘still in the can’
Because Bruce’s ‘Cover Me’ was considered ‘Too Good’ to give away
Protection was offered instead [they still took his vocal off though!]
Oh + I’ve heard a slightly rough track – A duet between Michael J & Freddie Mercury ! [couldn’t be ANY worse than the Micheal J & Eddie Murphy -DUET – BE WARNED …….. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9cQOcAC_K8
Thanks Richie. Only had a 12′ mix on a compilation cassette. I think this maybe a different mix.
