The Brief:
David Sanborn’s 8th album ‘Backstreet’ was released in 1982. The single “I Told U So”, released in 1984, briefly charted on the Billboard R&B Singles chart, debuting on 4/14/84. It stayed on the charts for 2 weeks, topping out at #91. It didn’t manage to hit the Hot 100. Songwriting is credited to David Sanborn and Hiram Bullock. The remixing on this 12″ was done by David Todd and Nick Martinelli.
